DOMINIC ICHABA – Ag. Managing Director/Chief Executive

Dominic Ichaba joined the Cornerstone group as the pioneer General Manager and Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of its subsidiary, Cornerstone Trustees Limited in 1999. He was appointed Company Secretary of Cornerstone Insurance plc in September, 2002 to strengthen the management. Before he resumed with the Cornerstone Group, he was Senior Manager, Investment Banking and Head, Capital Markets Group at Rims Merchant Bank Limited. An astute administrator with competencies in corporate strategy, organizational transformation and legal/statutory matters, Ichaba has played vital roles in setting the strategic direction, policies and processes of the top underwriting company.

An Alumnus of the Lagos Business School, he holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and is a Chartered Stockbroker. He has attended top management courses both at home and abroad including; Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School [LBS]; International Financial Law at Oxford, U.K, Corporate Legal Advisors and Human Resources Strategy in Transforming Organizations at The Management School, London, U.K and the London Business School, U.K respectively.

Until his recent appointment as Acting Managing Director/CEO, he was an Executive Director with supervisory functions spanning human capital, legal services, asset management and brand management. A versatile professional, Ichaba obtained a bachelors degree in Law from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1984 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985.

SOJI EMIOLA – General Manager, Operations

Soji Emiola is a professional with strong bias for marketing. A chartered insurance practitioner with over 18 years cognate experience spanning lecturing, underwriting, corporate planning, branch networking, business development and strategic marketing.

Soji Emiola holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria and a Masters degree in Business Administration. He is an associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria. Until his recent elevation to the position of General Manager, he was a Deputy General Manager and head of the Business Network Group. He was previously the Regional Head for Western operations of the company. Emiola is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School [LBS].

ADEOLA KUDAYA – AGM, Human Capital

Adeola Kudaya is an Assistant General Manager and Head of Human Capital of Cornerstone Insurance Plc. She joined the company in 1993 after working for some years in the Lagos State public service. An astute human relations professional, Kudaya has provided strategic direction for human resource management for the company. She has been responsible for recruiting top quality staff and has consistently ensured that they are well motivated, trained and developed towards achieving corporate goals.

An alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School [LBS], Kudaya has attended numerous human resource and management courses locally and abroad. She holds a B.A. in English Studies from the University of Ife [now Obafemi Awolowo University] and a Master of Industrial and Labour Relations [MILR] from the University of Lagos.

MARTINS UWUILEKHUE – AGM, Special Risk

Martins Uwuilekhue is an Asistant Genaral Manager and Group Head, Special Risk. He began his underwriting career as an assistant superintendent at Franco-Nigeria Insurance Brokers from where he joined Cornerstone Insurance Plc in 1993.
An innovative and dynamic professional, Uwuilekhue oversees the operations of bonds/engineering and oil and gas units and is highly proficient in risk management, loss prevention, client management and marketing. He holds both the bachelors and masters degrees in Physiology from the University of Ibadan, and is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria [CIIN].

DAYO ADERINTO – DGM, Northern Region

Adedayo Aderinto is a Deputy General Manager in charge of the northern operations of the company. From the company’s office in Abuja, he oversees the development of business relationships and implementation of corporate strategy and targets in the nation’s capital and the entire northern region.

Aderinto joined Cornerstone Insurance PLC in 1992 as a Manager, having spent the first years of his career in public service in the Federal Ministry of Finance & Economic Development.

He holds a combined honours degree in History and Political Science from the University of Ife [now Obafemi Awolowo University] and Post-Graduate diplomas in Public Administration from Administrative Staff College [ASCON], Lagos and Development Administration from the University of Birmingham, U.K. He is a fellow of the British Council, a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria [CIIN] and an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management [NIM]. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School [LBS]

CHARLES AKOBUNDU – AGM, Risk Management

Charles Akobundu is an Assistant General Manager and Group Head Risk Management Group. He joined Cornerstone Insurance PLC in 1993, having started his career at UNIC Insurance Plc. Akobundu’s experience has come to bear on the company’s operations and business expansion in Port Harcourt and environs.

An Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London, he holds a bachelors degree in Finance and Banking of the University of Port Harcourt and an MBA in General Management from the Rivers State University of Science & Technology [RSUST].

SUNDAY OJO – AGM, Finance & Asset Management

A seasoned accountant, Sunday Ojo, Assistant General Manager, and Acting Group Head, Finance & Asset Management Group. He joined the company in 2002 from Industrial & General Insurance Company [IGI], where he was head of the Finance & Accounts unit.

A graduate of Accountancy and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria [FCA], Ojo’s career traverses public service, banking and pharmaceutical sectors. A tested professional, he is an active member of ICAN.

An alumnus of the Lagos Business School [LBS], Ojo is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management [MNIM] and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation [ACIT].

STEPHEN ALANGBO – Senior Manager, Life Division

Stephen Adekunle Alangbo is a Senior Manager and Head, Life Division of Cornerstone Insurance Plc. A thoroughbred professional with a knack for marketing, he joined the company in 2004 from Alliance & General Insurance Company Limited where he was head, Life and Pensions.

An associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria [CIIN], Alangbo holds a combined honours degree in Maths/Statistics from the University of Lagos and an MBA from the Enugu State University of Technology [ESUT] Business School.

DAYO ALAO – AGM, Alternative Market Group

Dayo Alao is an Assistant General Manager and Acting Group Head in the Alternative Market Group. He started his career as a trainee accountant in the firm of Tunde Oluyemi & Co, Chartered Accountants from where he joined Cornerstone Insurance PLC in 1993 as an executive in the marine unit. He rose to the post of Head of Operations, Financial Institutions unit before he moved on to Linkage Assurance Plc as Head, Financial Institutions. Later, he joined Guardian Express Assurance Limited as Group Head, Marketing.

A self-motivated and aggressive marketer, he won the “Award for Exceptional Performance” at Cornerstone Insurance Plc in 1997 and was best producing staff at Linkage Assurance Plc in 2001. Alao, who is an associate of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria [CIIN] and the Nigerian Institute of Management [NIM], holds a B.Sc. in Political Science and an MBA from the University of Ado- Ekiti.
